Welcome friends, fellow pooches, & "Fuddpucker" clan to my blog.
Since I've become a Virgina gal I've learned a few things....running down mountains is great fun, Bar -B-Que's smell yummy, and alot of my new friends have the last name "hound". Most importantly life is grand if you are a Vizsla with a blog. Read and smile.

I KNEW I HAD AN ANGEL!

Whew what a week! To start it off my darling Agnes tangled with a ground hog and marred her pretty face, a nice long scratch! All she needs is a patch over one eye and a bottle of rum and she'd be a lovely buccaneer - eegads! Seriously, anyone that has advice on treating these situations so there is no scar H-E-L-P. I'm currently using neomycin on it and on days I don't use that a lil vitamin E.
To top things off, because Agnes was unfazed by the large moving stuffed animal with nails of steel, that I'm certain she assumes she chased off, not of course my hair flying, pink bathrobe waving, maniacal loud NOOOOO, she decided to assist me in package wrapping, tree decorating and cookie making. Problem is in Vizsla-eze(the language of Vizsla's) one must place an "UN" in front of most verbs.
Example: UNwrapping, UNdecorating, UNmaking.

I was, however, blessed with one incrediable enlightening moment amidst the craziness. I finally realized I truly had an ANGEL. Yep Agnes assured me she was an ANGEL ...well a Victoria Secret Angel anyway, or would that be a Vizsla Secret Angel ? ( Either term WE were made for each other. )

Needles, and Rabies, and Vizsla's OH MY!

Well much as I agree with no Rabies shot till a lil older the grand state of Virginia has a law that says all dogs must have from 3 months on . So off Agnes and I went to be law abiding citizens, bah humbug.

Our vet, who is a lovely young gal and a graduate of Texas A&M, treats Agnes with awe (first Vizsla at the clinic, heck probably in the area) and before my sweet, calm, under control - yep we had a little talking to when she wanted to help me pass a semi on the freeway (geeesh kids grow up so fast these days, one day sit stays the next day driving) - anywho my dear vet starts with the baby talk then the petting and before long I've got Agnes wiggling all over. Those with Vizsla's ya'll never told me the tail controls all movement!

Needless to say the wiggling progressed to the point where the needle went in a smidgeon then out, then squirted, then sprayed all near by, the entire time Agnes continued to wiggle in Vizsla glee.

We eventually succeeded with a vet tech literally holding her rear and I her head. Agnes, when off the table sashayed her self, with treat in mouth, on out to the rest of her public in the waiting room. Me ? Well, I'm gonna try to figure out how to manage BOTH ends of a dog.
